About Us
Experience a family holiday like no other
Cotswold Charm was originally set up by Michael Haines in 1979 and ran up to six cottages he then jointly owned in conjunction with his brother Stephen, sister Margaret and all under the careful eye of their late mother Elsie.
Since her passing, Michael lets them through Cotswold Charm Holiday Cottages which acts as an agency. Margaret still has Stable Cottage alongside the old farmhouse and Michael has the Old Granary and George Barn alongside the farmhouse where he was born and still lives. He hopes that this change will lead to an improved and more personal service for the many friends who have stayed with them over the years.
To maintain a sizeable Chipping Campden presence, Michael is delighted to have added Meadow Cottage in nearby Charingworth to the brochure, which also includes Pearl Brandreth’s Tally Ho and the new Tally Ho View at the bottom of Dyers Lane, Mark and Deenie’s Over the Arches in Park Road.
Cotswold Charm has 8 very individual cottages with 1 to 4 en suite bedrooms, mainly within 20 to 300 yards of one another which makes it easy to cater for large family groups. Each cottage has its own distinctive features and character. Four of the cottages (Meadow Cottage, Old Granary, Over the Arches and George Barn) have a ground floor bedroom to support those who struggle with stairs and in addition George Barn’s ground floor is completely wheelchair accessible and includes a large lounge/kitchen/diner and bedroom with en suite wet-room.
Today, things are a lot different at Top Farm to what they were 300 years ago when a member of the Haines family farmed and lived in what is now Stable Cottage.
Bookings are now being taken for the 2023 Cheltenham Gold Cup Week. To avoid queueing for the Racecourse Car Park, you could drive to Toddington and take a GWR steam train to the Racecourse Station, you may even get a breakfast on board the train.
Cotswold Charm Holiday Cottages aims to be the best one-stop shop for self-catering accommodation and services in the Cotswolds and Chipping Campden in particular.
Our Aims
Cotswold Charm Holiday Cottages aims to be the best one-stop shop for self-catering accommodation and services in the Cotswolds and Chipping Campden in particular. Within our cottages we aim to make each as supportive as possible within the physical limitations of the individual building. Wherever possible we aim to meet the requirements of those with a wide range of physical disabilities.

Many people with varying disabilities have stayed in our previous three cottages Rick Cottage, Barn Cottage and The Ewe Pen) which had a range of characteristics to support some of those with a disability.
Michael is delighted to report that feedback on them has always been very positive, and he now aims that George Barn will surpass them for those with physical challenges.
Whilst the Old Granary’s ground floor is large, accessible and enjoys an en suite wet-room, Michael as an above knee-amputee can climb the staircase to the lounge/kitchen/diner, but they do provide a bit more of a challenge.
