Stable Cottage was originally a 14/15th-century “farmer’s cottage”, converted to stables in the early 1700s, a farm office in the early 1950s, and converted back to living accommodation again in 1999. The first picture shows it just before this and in the gable end the darker stone shows the original thatch line which can also be seen in the bedroom picture.
George Barn – the first picture taken before 1940 shows it as a thatched barn and Michael can just remember it as such before it was rebuilt in 1949 to store grain on the first floor. Michael then converted it into the wheelchair-accessible unit shown in the second picture in 2014.
