Built in 1948 on the site of an old thatched barn where the draft horses’ harnesses were stored on the first floor overnight, George Barn was designed to hold implements , tractors, potatoes and apples on the ground floor and bulk grain on the first floor. This use did not last much beyond the 1950’s and more recently it served as an office and motorcycle workshop/store for 10 years or so before more recently being converted into a wheelchair accessible unit by Michael.
Access to the ground floor is by either the 840mm wide side door or by opening the wider bi-fold doors in the front of the picture. In addition to the ground floor double bedroom with ensuite wet-room, up to 3 first ensuite double bedrooms can be made available on the first floor offering flexible accommodation for 2, 4, 6 or 8 people (prices set accordingly).

Off-road parking for 3 cars. Accessed via private drive, the 300 year old colourful garden is on the other side of Blind Lane and there is a further safe amenity/exercise area for children to run around on.
The flexible lounge/kitchen/diner can accommodate up to 8 including a wheelchair. The electric armchair, settees and comfy carvers allow all to enjoy a good book or watch your choice of program on the 50-inch Smart Colour TV (all Sky programs, BT Sport, Catch Up and Recordings included). High speed WiFi. Under-floor heating and warm & easy clean Kardean flooring add to your comfort. Microwave & toaster are on the console by the table. Dishwasher fridge /freezer, washing machine and drier can be seen to the right of the sink .
The adapted kitchen includes fan assisted electric oven tower with pull out shelf to help with transfer of pots and pans which are stored in the drawers below. Induction hob and kitchen sink are incorporated in an electric table that can accommodate wheelchair users and be adjusted to suit your height. Beyond the kitchen is the ground floor double bedroom with en suite wet-room and electric profiling double bed (mattress height 640mm). There is plenty of storage space in the wardrobe and chest of drawers and room to manoeuvre a wheelchair. Light switches and emergency call system can all be operated from the bed, as can the 26” colour television – Sky multi room, etc.
Double action swing doors give easy access to the ensuite wetroom (also accessible from the kitchen). Wall mounted shower seat (seat height 420mm – shower wheelchair also available) and comfort height toilet (bowl height 490mm, seat height 510mm) both have drop down bars for easy safe access. In the corner immediately beyond the shower seat is a two speed body drier to help you to dry yourself quickly. Wall mounted vertical bars for support are provided alongside the basins, toilet and body drier.We do not allow any smoking inside the cottages and as allergy suffers we also do not allow pets with the exception of Guide Dogs who are welcome, but please note that we do make a small additional cleaning charge.
Prices shown on the website are based on 4 people in 2 double ensuite bedrooms (the other rooms will be locked), please talk to Michael about about larger families/parties. Top Farm’s colourful garden is be accessible via a gentle wheelchair slope.
Those with particular requirements regarding beds and/or lifts/hoists or other special needs, are asked to discuss the matter with us. TPG Disabled Aids (01432 351666) provide a 7-day rental service for a wide range of products that can be arranged prior to your stay. Helping Hands Home Care (01789 762121) or Housing21 (01386 – 840691) can provide extra support for those that need it. If you require a wheelchair accessible taxi during your stay, try Emerald Taxis from Evesham on 01386 761705. Wheel-Ability (Colette or Phillip Kilminster) from Gloucester on 01452 – 414968 can provide on-site servicing and/or repairs for wheelchairs & scooters.
There are 3 ensuite double bedrooms on the first floor, climb the staircase and beyond the landing is the Back Bedroom with its lovely Cotswold stone wall. The dormer to the left provides a nice view towards the Catholic Church and Chipping Campden.
There is parking for 2 cars in front of the adjacent garages and a third may be parked in front of the main windows or across Blind Lane on the amenity area. Wheelchair access to the colourful garden is across the lane and then left up a short private drive with reasonably level access into the garden through a gap in the fence.
